Welcome to the BIS "Road Show" on the proposed China rules! There is a Q&A brief in the August issue of ExPrac (Export Practitioner). The contents of Matt Borman's responses include a lot of "that's a good question", "I don't think", "we are still working on it", "we really haven't contemplated that yet", and so on....A tremendous amount of unfinished business exists.

It should be noted that the border exception applies to lawyers as well: Thus, if your customs or export lawyer goes on vacation to Jamaica and takes his laptop, all information about his clients on that laptop is subject to viewing and copying by the Yankee Customs Service, known now as ICE and CBP.
